David Ethan Shapiro — CEO + Founder
David Ethan Shapiro is a graduate of NYU Tisch, and is the CEO of Starlight Partners, whose films have screened at festivals worldwide from the 70th Anniversary gala at the Cannes film festival to opening night at Sundance. As a writer, he has been recognized by the Academy Nicholl Fellowship (Semi-Finalist) for his screenplay “THE LAST MACCABEE”, a Jewish-Themed crime drama Set at a Bat Mitzvah, being produced by Matthew Rhodes (Nightcrawler, Whiplash). David was the Lead Producer on Kristen Stewart's Directorial Debut, COME SWIM, for which he was a semi-finalist for the Best Live Action Short Oscar in 2017. He recently co-wrote and is executive Producing, SHADOW PEOPLE, a feature-length musical-drama being Produced by Margot Hand (Rebecca Hall's Passing, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar) and starring Nat Wolff (The Fault in our Stars), adapted from Miriam Feldman’s heartbreaking memoir about a Jewish family’s battle with schizophrenia. He also Co-wrote Camp Starlight, a fantasy-adventure set a Jewish Summer camp, being produced by the Hideaway Entertainment (Cherry, Men In Black: International).
Engaged in local Jewish Community Work in his hometown of Scottsdale, AZ, David is on the board of JNFuture PHX (Jewish National Fund), as well as the board of NowGen PHX (Jewish Federation). David is also an active member of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Philanthropic Group (Phx Children 40/40).
